Life is full of challenges and setbacks. Whether it's a personal or professional setback, it can be difficult to navigate through these tough times. However, building resilience is key to overcoming setbacks and bouncing back stronger. We can conquer our challenges and emerge stronger than ever before. Here are some examples, thoughts, and tips to help you build resilience in your own life. 1. Embrace a growth mindset: One of the first steps in building resilience is adopting a growth mindset. Instead of viewing setbacks as failures, try to see them as opportunities for growth and learning. Understand that setbacks are a natural part of life and can provide valuable lessons for personal and professional development.

2. Cultivate self-awareness: Take the time to reflect on your strengths, weaknesses, and values. Understanding yourself on a deeper level will help you navigate through setbacks with more clarity and purpose. Self-awareness allows you to identify your triggers, manage your emotions, and make better decisions in challenging situations.

When things get tough or uncomfortable, I have developed a habit to 'helicopter out of the situation' (virtually) and ask myself; "what's in this for me?" - because there is always something there that can be found in the moment through purposeful reflection that enriches me.

3. Choose your tribe: Surround yourself with a strong support system of family, friends, mentors, and coaches. Having people who believe in you and can offer guidance and encouragement during tough times is crucial for building resilience. Lean on them for support, advice, and perspective when you need it most.

People either enable you to gain energy or they drain energy - protect yourself by removing the energy drains.

4. Practice self-care: Taking care of yourself physically, mentally, and emotionally is essential for building resilience. Where feasible, make sure to prioritise self-care activities such as exercise, healthy eating, getting enough sleep, and engaging in activities that bring you joy and relaxation. Taking care of yourself will give you the strength and energy to face setbacks head-on. 5. Set realistic goals: When facing setbacks, it's important to set realistic goals that are achievable and meaningful to you. Break down your goals into smaller, manageable steps and celebrate each milestone along the way. This will help you stay motivated and focused on the progress you're making, even in the face of setbacks. 6. Practice gratitude: Cultivating a sense of gratitude can help shift your perspective and build resilience. Take time each day to reflect on the things you are grateful for, no matter how small. This practice can help you maintain a positive mindset and find silver linings even in the midst of setbacks. 7. Seek professional help if needed: If you find yourself struggling to bounce back from setbacks, don't hesitate to seek professional help. A coach or therapist can provide guidance, support, and tools to help you navigate through challenging times and build resilience. Invest in yourself and be more accountable to your future self! Remember, setbacks are not the end of the road, but rather an opportunity for growth and resilience. By embracing a growth mindset, cultivating self-awareness, developing a support system, practicing self-care, setting realistic goals, practicing gratitude, and seeking professional help if needed, you can overcome setbacks and bounce back stronger than ever before.

We live for the struggles in achieving our goals. Happiness exists along the way so enjoy those moments. As soon as we summit, we will find ourselves looking on the horizon for the next peak...
